How long does the complete treatment take?
The osseointegration process (fusion of the implant to the bone) takes between 3 and 6 months. However, in many cases, we can place an aesthetic temporary prosthesis during the initial phase (Immediate Loading) so you never have to go without teeth.
Is the implant placement procedure painful?
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia (or conscious sedation if you prefer), so you won't feel any pain during the surgery. Post-operative discomfort is minimal and easily managed with standard medication, generally comparable to a simple tooth extraction.
What is the lifespan of a dental implant?
With proper care (good hygiene and maintenance visits), a titanium implant can last a lifetime. It is a permanent solution with a very high success rate.
What happens if I don't have enough bone for an implant?
This is evaluated during the 3D diagnosis. If bone density is insufficient, Dr. Teixeira is an expert in bone grafting and sinus lift techniques, which allow creating the solid foundation needed to successfully place the implant.
